U.S., Spain, and Canada Commit to Uplift Latin America

The three nations intend to promote “safe, orderly, humane, and regular migration.”

The Department of Homeland Security recently released a joint statement between the United States, Spain, and Canada. The three countries pledged to work together to address the factors causing illegal migration from Latin American countries and collaborate with the governments of those countries to increase economic opportunity while facilitating legal migration methods to North America.

“The three countries are committed to working together with relevant governments in the region to meet these ambitious targets and support each other’s efforts in achieving them,” the Department of Homeland Security stated. “In addition, the three countries will engage multilateral institutions and organizations to identify ways in which these institutions can support labor migration pathways, including support to advance fair recruitment and respect for worker rights.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for Chief Raul Ortiz as he oversees U.S. Border Patrol.
  • For members of Congress as they consider immigration reform legislation.
